We Won!!

As we approach Christmas, it's fair to say 2020 has been a landmark year for The Athenian and indeed many of those in the hospitality industry.

But what really makes this year stand out for this team, is the incredible achievement of winning both Best Editions Restaurant and then the overall crown of Best Restaurant in the annual Deliveroo awards.

As a company we were delighted to be shortlisted for these accolades, but to win them has brought a great deal of joy and well-deserved pride to a team that has worked tirelessly in the most challenging of circumstances. We never stopped looking forward, staying positive and as a result all of us within the business will remember these awards and this time together for years to come.

A year of intermittent lockdowns has driven us all to adapt and pull together as a stronger unit. The demand for us to stay open has come from both our amazing customers, but also the tireless staff we support who make us what we are. We have a mission to bring happiness and a high level of service regardless of the ever-changing situation, something we are very confident in delivering.

Christmas is around the corner, normally a hectic time for any restaurant, but not so for many of us this year. However, that only drives us to bring the festive cheer closer to home, keeping our amazing teams in high spirits. This means Christmas cards for team members have been sent around the globe to be signed by all, along with food parcels to make sure the extended Athenian family feels cared for, appreciated and rewarded. We hope everyone can enjoy this Christmas as best they can, as it is truly deserved after an unrelenting year.

Given our outstanding achievement in taking the top spot amongst over 25,000 other restaurants, we go forward with great hope for what we can achieve in 2021, hopefully unrestricted and free to realise the incredible potential of this brand.

Merry Christmas everyone, from us all at The Athenian.
