The Owl That Flew

It’s been 7 years since our little owl popped its head up at Haringey Market in North London on Sunday 9 November 2014 for the very first time. And we’ve come a long way since them. Growing from a humble market stall to a network of locations, nationwide. Deliveroo Restaurant of the Year 2020. All thanks to our loyal customers and team of Athenians.

SPAIN & UAE

And the future is more exciting than ever! Our plan for international expansion by the end of 2021 and throughout 2022, is official! Starting with the Spanish market and then continuing with expanding into the UAE, the move will see The Athenian rolling out two new sites in Madrid, followed by four sites in Dubai and Abu Dhabi by the end of 2021. 2022 will see a further four sites open in the UAE, and one more in Barcelona.

UK EXPANSION

There are also plans afoot on our home turf too; a planned UK expansion will lead to the Athenian doubling in size. By December 2021 we will operate out of 18 units, then expand to a total of 26 UK sites, including a series of brand-new bricks and mortar restaurants by the end of 2022!
